Hi there, I saw your post on Punksthetic versus Megan Lara.
Well… this may interest you.
so, an artist agrees to sell a design exclusively to a vendor. The vendor agrees and sets up a system where the design is paid for and then royalties are paid on the design ongoing on a regular basis.
Sounds fine in theory, but it all falls apart when it comes to trust. You see, it has come to my attention that this particular vendor hasn’t paid his artists in quite some time. He hasn’t commented on this. He hasn’t contacted the artists. He hasn’t responded to their questions. He is ignoring them. There are some reports (unsubstantiated at this time) that customers are not receiving the shirts they’ve ordered.
The only fair thing to do right now, whilst the artists themselves seek legal advice is to avoid this company:
Do not buy from them. Do not attempt to sell them your art. This company is a danger to all artists and customers. Until we know more AVOID AVOID AVOID!
604Republic, I don’t know what the hell is going on with you, but you better get your head out of your ass and do something about the situation you have created. The longer you hide under a rock, the worse this will get. If you have problems, it is your duty to keep people informed and kiss their ass to bear with you. Do it. DO IT, NOW.
This thread was saved as it stands at the time of this post. It was/is located here. https://www.facebook.com/imkylecrawford/posts/10151527170253676 I am saving this because, frankly, I am sick and tired of this kind of entitled bullshit.
Jaime R. Stone - Punksthetic Art
"Wow. What a day… I really can’t say it was anyone’s fault but my own for speaking up against someone for being a douchebag. I speak out against anyone who treats people like crap for no discernible reason, birthday or not, especially if one of those people happens to be me.
I’ve learned that practically everyone in the t-shirt industry is an asshole. Yep. They are like the ignorantly positive Nazis of the artist world, where your opinion doesn’t matter if it borders on the negative. In fact, if you don’t change your opinion to a more positive one (that or shut the hell up), you will be banned or blocked or they will defame you across the industry.
I won’t stand by my actions as being smart or strategic in any way. I never wanted to incite any drama (though I suppose my actions would have you think that). The simple truth is that I wanted validation, and at best, an apology from the person who offended me.
Apologies are rare in this world, however, where people feel more comfort saying horrible things from behind a computer as opposed to straight to your face. People are fucking cowards in a sewing circle, gossiping and insulting other people behind their backs.
All I wanted was some decency and to be treated with respect (unless disrespected, then all bets are off), which I treat everybody with, REGARDLESS if they hold an opinion I don’t like.”
This unbelievable tripe was written by a kid who has absolutely no insight whatsoever. He started out doing all the things he said he doesn’t do to other people; disrespect, name-calling, and finished up by blaming all these other artists for his own utter failure to be respected in the industry.
Jamie, if you ever read this. Time to grow the fuck up, son.
Raylan Givens (Justified)"You run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole; you run into assholes all day, YOU’RE the asshole."
Self-absorbed is self-absorbed. Well done, kid, you continue to prove yourself to be lacking any ability to engage with other people normally. You should probably see a head-shrink, because that’s only going to get worse unless you pull your head out of your head’s ass and realise that you are not the centre of the universe.
